About Us

Restaurant Golden ValleyThe History Behind Good Day Cafe Bad Day Bar

On February 14th, 2007, the Good Day Cafe officially opened its doors to the public.  Its founder, David Potter Webb of Original Pancake House, Winfield Potter’s, Rupert’s Nightclub, and Coco Lezzone fame, sought to create a gathering place for the community on the foundation of “ten mile food” — that is, food that was worthy of a ten mile drive.  While David passed away in August of 2011, his sons David and Michael along with their mother Nancy, carry forth his vision and commitment to providing great food, a warm environment, and the understanding that “we’re only as good as your last meal.”

Good Day Cafe Hosting TableFrom Great Eggspectations to Delightful Dinners

Each item on our menu, from english muffins to savory soups to chorizo sausage, is made in house with fresh ingredients.  We proudly use meats, vegetables, and cheese produced in Minnesota.  Our recipes are intended to invoke a nostalgia for grandma’s cooking, but with a Good Day twist.

The GDC Experience

The atmosphere inside Good Day Cafe is warm and energetic, with a staff that delivers friendly and professional customer service.  Whether you are having a get together with the family or a business meeting with clients, you can find a place to call your own at the Good Day Cafe.  Our goal when you dine with us in Golden Valley is that you will leave feeling like you are part of the family.
